This Earpod Wood was gathered from a tree that was recently cut down in the Foster Botanical Gardens. It was a historical tree that was planted in the 1800's and was one of the first trees to be planted in the garden. It was the only tree of its kind on the property and will not be replanted. I was lucky enough to save some of this beautiful wood and give it another purpose.

This bowl was a test to see how this type of woodturning was done. Keeping the live edge gives a peek at what the original piece of timber looked like. Many more of these types of bowls will come in the near future.

My first time working with Milo couldn't be any better than this. This bowl had so much character that every side was unique.

This is my very first bowl. It was the third piece I made on a lathe, and the tools I had were very limited. I remember figuring out how to empty the bowl while using the wrong tool to do so. Through trial and error, I found the right tool needed to complete the piece.

Making the first bowl is an experience that no woodturner would ever forget. It's the moment when they hold their first creation in their hands that drives them to keep on turning.
